Format:Paperback
The modern sequels written by Sente and drawn by Julliard of Blake and Mortimer are as outstanding as the ones written by E.P. Jacobs.A clear line drawings, a lively and interesting plot, well constructed characters and settings in different places around the world, makes this comic book a great choice for those who prefer classic French comics to those of comic heroes produced at a mass scale.
The story is about a strange and lost civilization discovered by an ethnologist who suddenly turns mad. Mortimer, with the help of Natasha and another friend, departs to Africa to try to solve the mistery. The end is unexpected and curious so, on the overall, I would recommend this comic and other from the same series.

Just plain fun. 23 April 2012
Format:Paperback|Amazon Verified Purchase
This book is probably best summed up as a fun romp. The story is old-fashioned (in the good way) and the pictures wonderful. EPJ created the characters, but the new writers and illustrators have moved the series on and, I think, taken it to a new level. If you like the Indiana Jones films, this is probably the sort of book you'd like.

Another great Blake & Mortimer album. 3 Jan 2012
By Michael R. Brown - Published on Amazon.com
Format:Paperback|Amazon Verified Purchase
This is another Blake & Mortimer album. Set in the 1950s, while this is a standalone album, it does follow up some plot threads from the prior 2-part "Sarcophagi of the Sixth Continent", so readers are recommended to have read that one.

While published as the 11th volume, it's actually the 18th. It's the third album by the 'second team' doing albums after the death of B&M creator EP Jacobs. It's by Yves Sente & Andre Juillard. Cinebooks is publishing their 4 other albums previously.

In this album, Mortimer is recovering from the events of the previous adventure. He gets involved in an archaeological mystery in Africa that points to a possible early civilization of mankind! As always, Captain Blake is pulled in, and Orlik makes a return, along with some other characters from previous albums, including an early love interest of Mortimer. With this album, matters are put to rest.

3 more albums are planned for 2012, which includes another overlooked EP Jacobs album, and the most recent 2 Blake & Mortimer albums (by Van Hamme and others). That will leave 6 more albums that could be done in 2013 and 2014!
