3.0 out of 5 stars I love Blake and Mortimer 5 July 2014

I love Blake and Mortimer, own all the comic books and the animated TV Series. This volume however, deals with real historic facts and is somehow lost in the plot. My least favorite thus far in the series.

5.0 out of 5 stars The latest Blake and Mortimer thriller is excellent 25 Jun 2014
By Michael R. Brown - Published on
Format:Paperback|Verified Purchase
This is the latest Blake and Mortimer story. While Cinebooks has it marked as #18, its properly #21 and was released in 2012 in French. This is the first English translation. This is by the new team of Yves Sente and Andre Juillard.

The story has Blake and Mortimer confronting mysteries that actually have a connection. Professor Mortimer is in Oxford looking into break-ins and thefts at Ashmolean Museum (a real museum). At the same time, Captain Blake is drawn into a matter in which an old classmate from Oxford, an English lord, has mysteriously died. As others in a loose group called the TES Society are killed, Blake and Mortimer realize the two matters are connected, and work to figure out who is behind it and the secret of the 5 Lords and why its connected to the death of a notable Englishman in the early 20th Century.

As an added bonus, like the pairs prior story, "the Sarcophagi of the 6th Continent", we learn more of the childhood and early life of Captain Blake before he met Mortimer.

And this is one of the rare stories NOT to include Col Olrik.

The next planned volume is "The Time Trap". This is one of the EP Jacobs stories that had been previously published by Comcast. After that there are 2 more EP Jacobs stories plus a new one that has recently come out in France. Hopefully we'll see those in 2015.
