Complete Garden Power SystemSAFE :Complete confidence and peace of mind Complies with all current UK electrical regulationsSIMPLE :Only basic DIY skills required (Wiring a plug / Drilling a hole )EASY :Full installation kit (pre-wired) Easy to follow step-by-step leaflet includedInstalling power to the garden with Blagdon - The Pond Masters When planning a pond you will almost certainly want to provide a power supply to the garden to run a pump, filters, lighting and other useful outdoor equipment. This is worth considering in the early planning stages. Installing power in the garden is a serious, but realistic DIY project that need not take long, or cost you the earth. There are several new legal and regulatory considerations when installing power to the garden. The main considerations are: Part P Building Regulations, and Outdoor Weatherproof Safety Standards (IP56). Part P Electrical Safety Regulations have been introduced in order to reduce the number of deaths, injuries and fires caused by faulty electrical installations and make life harder for 'cowboys' to leave electrical installations in an unsafe condition. Part P states that: The installation of prefabricated 'modular' systems (for example armoured garden cabling) linked by plug and socket connectors is not notifiable under Part P, provided that the products are CE-marked and that any final connections in kitchens and special locations are made to existing connection units or points (possible a 13A socket outlet). See the Part P website for further information. Electrical standards state that: All outdoor power supplies must be protected with a circuit breaker. All outdoor electrical components must comply with outdoor, weatherproof safety standards. All power supplies across the garden must be carried by metal sheathed armoured cable. If buried, warning tape must be applied. Choosing a complete DIY armoured garden power system, such as Blagdon's Powersafe Armoured Garden Power Supply Kit will ...

4.0 out of 5 stars Good product for the non-electrician 1 July 2009
By GeeBee
I am reasonably good and experienced at diy, but I hate anything to do with electrics, so wishing to install a water feature and other powered items in my garden I purchased this product. The product and the clear diagrams and instructions make it incredibly straightforward to install the necessary equipment in working order and to accepted standards.

Would have given it 5 stars but for 2 small niggles. Firstly although the instructions are clear, it is not as easy to fit the wire for the external item of equipment to the switchbox as they would have you believe, and I am sure the design could be improved in this respect. Secondly with regard to the screws supplied for fitting the adaptors and back plate, in my particular set one was missing and another had a head with a spigot which prevented the ingress of a screwdriver. This was not a problem for me as I had suitable spares to hand and did not raise an issue with the supplier or manufacturer.

Overall though a good product for the electrically challenged such as myself!

5.0 out of 5 stars Electrical power in the garden 8 July 2010
I found this a very comprehensive product that was easy to install and had all the instructions, parts and tools required in it. The only drawback is finding out what else this company can supply. I can not find their catalogue!
