I have worked for the BBC for over 20 years, all of it in sport, and have been fortunate enough to cover some truly remarkable sporting events. My real sporting passion is for Blackpool Football Club, who I first started supporting in 1967 and have seen more lows than highs in that time, and Motor-Sport. In fact my all-time sporting heroes were a little-known Pool player called Alan Suddick (who I was fortunate enough to meet at a book signing where I bored him senseless) and James Hunt (who I ever only saw once at the 1978 British Grand Prix when he was at the 'downside' of his career).
My all-time sporting passion/ambition is to break the World Water Speed Record on Lake Coniston and in fact a new novel called 'Dreams of Blue' is in the pipeline on that very subject is being released next year. Before that 'The Playboy and the Rat', a combined biography of James Hunt and Niki Lauda has just been released. I hope you like it!!
