The legend of Blackmore’s Treasure is part of the history of Prospect Farm. Tobias Allinson acquired the farm in 1645 and each generation since then has attempted to find the fabled treasure. None have succeeded… His descendant, a thirteen year old boy, suffers a serious accident whilst visiting the farm. During his time in hospital, he ‘dreams’ about events experienced by the original Tobias. In his ‘dream’ he takes part in the Battle of Naseby, meets Oliver Cromwell, Prince Rupert and other famous people he had read about in his history books… During his adventures a Sergeant Blackmore bequeaths his ‘treasure’ to him. The ‘treasure’ was never found; so the legend was born. Young Tobias determines to solve the mystery and find Blackmore’s Treasure.
I am retired, live in England and have been married 54 years (To the same lady). I have three daughters, a son and eight grandchildren. I enjoyed a successful career at director level in the marketing areas of UK national newspapers and magazines. I still maintain contact with the industry. During the period of my business life I served as a councillor in my home town, and helped to launch several community projects that still flourish. I am an amateur genealogist and often carry out research for people now living in many parts of the world but who have roots in England. Currently I am writing the history of my own family that I have traced back to 1537. For the past two years I have also written a weekly blog under the name of The Marketing Dinosaur for a marketing consultancy called Cariad Marketing Ltd.
My first childrens' novel "Blackmore's Treasure" was published last year and selected by the UK editor of The Historical Novel Society as her "Editor's Choice" for the month of May this year. My latest book "Monstrous Myths & Fabulous Fables" has just been published and has been awarded four stars by well respected reviewer Stacey Mitchell. I have written many short stories one of which was published in the September 2012 edition of 'America's Best Small Gardening Magazine' GreenPrints, they even commissioned a superb cartoon to illustrate it! I have also written some poetry. I particularly enjoy writng stories for my grandchildren in which they feature as the main character. Other work has been published on several internet sites and I am currently putting the finishing touches to my next book.
I have travelled widely, met many leading politicians and people in the public eye. I am a keen gardener and collect British stamps up to the year 2000. I am a close follower of football and cricket; a lifelong supporter of Arsenal Football Club and Middlesex County Cricket Club. I am by nature and inclination a monarchist, opposed to the establishment of the United States of Europe and believe that Great Britain neither needs nor wants to become a part of that ever widening state. I dislike and distrust most politicians.
