Delightfully annoying light -- 20 May 2011
By Spanghew - Published on Amazon.com

I purchased this light recently after acquiring a Bell Muni Bicycle Road Helmet in Geeky Hi-Visibility Yellow -- and noticing that the helmet has a bracket on the front for the Flea. I find that in flashing-mode, the Flea's battery indicator light is on the yellow setting, which means it still has between 25% and 75% life left, after two 90-minute bicycle outings.

I haven't tried this yet at night, but can't really imagine using the Flea as a see-where-you're going light if you travel at any decent speed; it's much more in the hey-look-out-for-me family, in my opinion. But I have headlamps to illuminate the path at night, and this is a handy, wonderfully easy to charge, lightweight and surprisingly bright flasher even in full daylight.

If you believe that an ounce of prevention is worth a pound of cure, this makes a great enhancement to your visibility in traffic.

So, the positives:

* Practically weightless
* Easy to charge from a USB port
* Easy to mount on the right Bell helmet
* Battery charge is sufficient for long rides, at least in flashing mode
* Quite alarmingly bright, which of course is what you want when you're riding in traffic

As for durability and longevity of this light, I don't have enough time with the Flea yet to comment.

Perfect 21 April 2011

The first thing that struck me when I opened up the packaging was how very tiny this thing is. If you're concerned about de-cluttering your handlebars of lights and other accessories, this is the light you want. I was concerned that the strap uses velcro but so far it's holding up pretty well. Oh and did I mention this thing is bright as heck. I've never seen one of these while driving in a car but I would Imagine it's extremely obnoxious. I leave it on strobe whenever I bike at night for maximum obnoxiousness. I'd rather be obnoxious than dead underneath a car. Also, the USB charging is awesome. Disposable batteries are a thing of the past. You shouldn't be concerned about the battery life at all unless you plan on riding hundreds of miles in a single night. For me it lasts for several weeks of occasional night riding. Well done Blackburn.

Not for real commuters 31 Oct 2011
By happybiker - Published on Amazon.com
I bought this product along with the matching tail light because I wanted something that was small profile and sleek. I was intrigued by the USB charging feature as well, since I work at a desk with a computer and this seemed like a good option.

I found that the only viable option for using this light is the dimmest setting since that is the one that gets the longest battery life. Attempting to use the brightest setting would drain the battery requiring me to charge it almost every night. The flashing setting is so bright, and so annoying and strobe like that I received a non stop barrage of honking horns from oncoming traffic. I find it really hard to believe that anyone who designed this product actually does any sort of commuting on a bicycle.

Pros: small and sleek,

cons: USB charging points can corrode over time if you leave the lights on your bike = no more charging. Also, poor battery life, I had to constantly charge this thing. Plus I cannot use all the settings for various reasons like battery life or just plain annoying.

I would not recommend this product to anyone.
