My blackberry started playing up at first the touch pad wouldnt move right and it gradually got worse over the day up until the point where it wouldnt even click, i've only had the phone for 6 months i had no idea why this happened i googled a solution and tried everything from completely unscrewing the phone and checking the touch pad was correctly attached and tightening the screws yet nothing seemed to work.
My last resort was to heat the phone up as i had read about many people doing this to get it working again, some even putting their phone in the oven as bizarre as it sounds, instead of risking this i put the phone under my laptop when it was on my bed so it eventually got quite hot this must have resoldered the components within the touchpad because it began working again, however i read about this happening and how it might start to freeze again over time so i ordered a new one as a backup.
Sure enough less than a week later the touch pad was no longer working again, although sooner than expected i just unscrewed the phone and replaced the damaged one with the new one and it is now working fine 4 weeks on. I don't know what it is with blackberry's but the touchpad seemed to be damaged i've heard many people having problems with it freezing and to know that it can be easily fixed just for £[] is great, i'm going to purchase a few more for myself and my friends now i know how temperamental they can be and how easy it is to resolve!

No problem with the replacement part if you know for sure that the problem with your phone is simply a damaged trackpad. However, don't be fooled that just because your blackberry trackpad has frozen, replacing it will solve the problem. For me, this replacement showed a limited improvement for a day or so and then ceased to work. My conclusion, as many forum sites will also tell you, the problem arises from an inherent problem within the blackberry itself which can't be fixed simply by replacing the trackpad!
