I used this product with Windows Vista Media Centre. Installation was dead easy - double click on the driver, then connect the USB TV stick. Job done! It's as easy as that! It turned my Laptop into a brilliant TV. All the software I needed to watch and record TV with a full epg was already installed on my laptop with Vista Home Premium.

It needs a proper aerial for use in the UK - preferably a roof top aerial. Aparently the TV signal in the UK is not strong enough to be used with a portable aerial so this is not a mobile product. I have checked - all the other USB TV sticks are the same. If they say they work with a mini portable aerial in hte UK they are lying. I used the supplied small aerial when I went to Germany and it worked perfectly - even in the car when moving!

Me and my friends have tried a few of these USB TV sticks and this BlackGold one seems to have the best tuner as it always finds the most TV stations.

Image quality is brilliant - just the same as my Sony LCD TV and the recording are the same quality.

My friend uses one of these with his desktop PC - because it connects via USB it is the only TV card he can use without opening the case of the PC and invalidating the warranty.

No 64-bit drivers 14 Dec 2011
Packaging is very basic - A plain brown box with no instructions or information inside.

- The tuner stick,
- A USB extension cable so you don't have to have the tuner projecting from the back of your PC
- A converter cable for the TV aerial cable
- A small stick aerial
- A Blackgold compliments slip

The sticky label on the outside of the box gave a web URL for downloading the latest drivers.

Sadly, I can't comment on how well it works (although I've read good things about it) because it transpired that there are no 64-bit drivers on the Blackgold web-site for this device. Most of the other products have one, so this omission is a bit odd.

My Windows media PC has 64-bit Windows (like a lot of new machines), so this tuner simply wont work.

It's going back. Hauppage, here I come.

I am relitively computer illiterate so this was installed for me by a third party who informed me that it was dead easy. It was found that an external aerial was significantly better than the one provided. I had this installed on a laptop and was well pleased that I was able to record two programmes plus watch an alternative third. The only drawback that I considered COULD be a possibility, was that the wires to the computer and the wires to the aerial with the constant moving would they be damaged in the long term.
