I have not had my 8520 long but can already say I love it its fantastic!!!
I have had an Iphone in the past and loved that too, but the battery life meant I had to sell it as it was unsuitable for my occupation now I know that the Blackberry does not have a great battery life but it is notably better than the Ipone more importantly you can change the battery in the blackberry with a spare (again this was a major let down for the Iphone as you could not do this.)
Before the Blackberry I had the Nokia C3 as I thought it would be just like a bb, it wasnt and was the worst phone I ever owned (DONT BE SUCKEREDIN BY ITS BLACKBERRY LIKE APPEARANCE).
The Blackberry does everything to a high standard. The apps are hugely entertaining and there are thousands of them so you never run out of things to do. BB messenger is fantastic too, so simple yet effective. Media player is decent lacking an MP4 player though.
The Wi-Fi is great and easy to use, downloads songs in seconds if using Wi-Fi.
Main pros:
-Tough phone design.
-Apps and games widely available.
-Blackberry services.
-Changeable battery with a decent life (I've managed 2 days with moderate - high useage, 2 days + standby only, 1 day heavy useage).
-Transferrable fascia.
-Camera of a suprisingly high quality.
-Memory card slot.
-Ease of use (e-mails in particular, well designed and reliable).
-Reliability. (My mate dropped his down the bog, a trip to phone doctors and £25 later it was fully operational again.)
Main cons:
-GPRS connection pretty slow (to be fair this may be down to Vodafone).
-Pretty complicated to get BB services properly set up.
-Loading times on start up.
-That flaming button that is such a nuiscense to use, its like it has a mind of its own.
-Cheap feel (Although the device is pretty tough, it looks cheap in places, for example my screen does not seem to fit properly, although you have to look really close to notice, and you can move the buttons on the keypad around quite a bit just seems a bit flimsy.
Overall I love this phone it is by far one of the best phone I have ever owned, sure its not the most powerful up to date android phone out there but I can garuntee it will be a classic as it is an al-rounder, good battery, good strength, good features etc. If you are looking for a mobile phone with a decent browser and e-mail capabilities at a reasonable price, look no further perfect business partner!!
My rating: 79% (An al-rounder which you can rely on)
Reliability: 9/10 (Blackberry have had issues but they appear to be sorted)
