Whether you are buying this as a Tolkien fan who wants to know more about Hilary, or someone looking for new stories to read to children this is a joy. The Tales themselves are very short, but with the enchanting illustrations would make ideal bedtime reading for parents who dread long chapters! The biography is a lead-in to a fuller version not yet written so there is more to look forward to.
