Within temptation a full symphony orchestra and choir. How much better can it get? Playing to a full audience, at the Ahoy in Rotterdam. As Within Temptation' style of music defiantely suits, the style of playing, very operatic and melodic.
Sharon Van Ardel, has a fantastic voice, and I think she sounds better live than on a studio recording. The visuals are very good, with some great camera work. Sound is excellent aswell. Great song selection aswell. Great bonus disc's too. Well a worth a venture if you're into this type of music. Even if your not and you like good quality live music, a must buy.

Until about four weeks ago I hadn't heard of Within Temptation, although I have been a metal fan for ages. Since discovering them on You Tube (purely by accident)I have steadily progressed from being pleasantly surprised to becoming an avid fan. In fact, I have been back tracking & collecting their earlier works ever since I purchased and watched this dvd. Sharon's voice truly works and complements the polished musicianship of the band. In concert her voice sound ten times better and her stage presence is spell-binding! Almost every song is a masterpiece in it's own right and, although I have heard of them being compared to Nightwish, Evanesence and Kate Bush, Within Temptation deserve to be acknowledged solely for themselves.
As to reccomending this dvd - If you like your metal and Gothic Rock - then this is definitely for you. The bonus dvd and live cds make it an absolute bargain and a 'must' for your collection.

My first introduction to Black Symphony. Very enjoyable music to listen to with an excellent DVD to accompany it. Very very good value.
