Outstanding 24 Mar 2008
Format:Mass Market Paperback
I throughly enjoyed reading this book, and, although it maybe heresy to say this, I think I enjoyed it even more than some of the Lectre books, especially Hannibal and Hannibal rising. I also found it especially interesting as I've been recently doing a lot of research into John McCain (a former Vietnam POW) over the last few months, and it was fascinating to read Harris's depiction of life in a Vietnam POW camp. I do, however, agree with other comments, that this is very much a thriller, and if you don't particuarly like thrillers, then this prehaps is not the best Thomas Harris book for you.

Relentless 1 Aug 2007
By Mr. Warren M. Fisher VINE™ VOICE
Format:Mass Market Paperback|Amazon Verified Purchase
While completely different on the surface from Harris's Lecter novels, this too deals with the nature of madness, evil and guilt. As addictive as Harris's best work, this is dark, densely plotted and utterly compelling, and although focussing on politically-inspired terrorists as opposed to religious fundamentalism this still has a lot to say about MIddle East politics and the intractable terrorist mindset.

Probably one of the best terrorist/counter-terrorist novels ever written, this proves that their is more to Harris than Hannibal Lecter. A thrilling and utterly relentless read.

By A Customer
Format:Mass Market Paperback
I read this book a couple of years ago, having read Red Dragon and Silence. While I greatly enjoyed these, I found this book to be completely diferent, more in the line of a thriller, which genre is not my favourite. I found the book to be relatively shallow and not particularly well developed. It did not particularly engage me and I would not recommend it to anyone who would look at it on the basis of his subsequent books.
