CHARG-e Gas Lifts are locking gas springs designed for variable seat height adjustment of swivel chairs, task chairs, executive chairs, operator chairs, computer chairs, draughtsman's chairs and swivel stools. The gas spring is a double cylinder system that consists of a pressure tube and a guiding tube. The tubes provide a smooth seat-height adjustment, they gently absorb the weight of the sitter, and they allow bending movements (for example when the load on the seat is not centred). The overall result is that you can work more comfortably.

* Length of outer cylinder (body) = 235mm
* Diameter of outer cylinder = 50mm, narrowing to 40mm
* Diameter of inner cylinder = 28mm, narrowing to 26.3mm.

I was really impressed with this supplier. Their literature/instructions are concise but well put together. And if you were having further problems they had included a telephone number so you could speak to them.

[Brought from chellgrove] I needed a new gas lift for my office chair (Luxury Dark Brown Director Office Chair with Folding Backrest). It originally came with a 7" gas lift, which turned out to be a bit on the low side, so I always had it at the maximum height. This meant a lot of stress on the piston while reclining, and after a while it started to work loose, wobble, and then loose height while sitting. I ordered a 9" gas lift to replace it, and I'm very happy with the product I received. The fitting instructions were clear, though the old lift needed a good few whacks with a hammer to get it out, but it all worked fine out in the end. The new gas lift is a perfect fit, I've set it to extended about half way, and it feels pretty stable. Hopefully having a long gas lift set half way will last longer - than a shorter gas lift on maximum. Time will tell...

I had an office chair for the computer at home which continually kept dropping its height whilst using it, really annoying. I had been looking to replace the chair but a decent chair is not cheap! I bought the 9" gas lift to replace the 7" so the starting height would be greater and it works very well. Easy to replace and fit the new gas lift, very satisfied with this product!
