First and foremost a warning: this is the same book as the Black Stallion and the Stranger. I made the mistake of buying both books only to discover this fact.
Anyway to the review itself. Basically Alec hires a girl, Pam, to help at Hopeful Farm. She handles the horses well, but faces prejudice from Henry and this infuriates Alec as he starts to fall for her. When he is disqualified from riding he decides to let Pam ride the Black in the upcoming race, but can he convince Henry to let her? And more importantly will the Black race for her?
A must for Black Stallion fans. Farley has kept up his good work.
