This lamp post arrived before Christmas, and has really popular, especially with the wee ones.

It's a lightweight cast aluminium product, which is fine by me, but if you're looking for a cast iron bar, this ain't it.

We fitted it out with a 12 volt 2W LED bulb and it's quite evocative on the lawn in the snow (We live in the country, so nights are likely a bit darker than the UK average).

The "glass" in the lamp is in fact a very thin tapered acrylic tube. Truthfully, I'm not sure how it would stand up to hot - running halogen, so I'd advise a cool bulb.

Oh - the underside of the lid is black, and we found that if we painted it white it significantly increased the light throw, as the LED bulb is directional and pointing up into the top of the lamp.

I love it, managed to get it wired into the front garden just before the snow and it is great. People coming to my front door are pleased too, as it lights their way in the dark.

This Lamp post is very easy to install . Made of light weight Aluminium and at reasonable price. Be aware when you tighten the top part of the lamp, the two screws can very easily cross thread , thus making them useless. Would I buy this light again ? YES I would buy it again.
