Product Description

Maryanne Hamilton had expected to be shocked, but the wanton orgy she finds in Mrs. Master's salon makes her wonder if she has walked into hell. Desperate to escape, she comes upon the master of sin himself - Lord Swansborough. Fascinated by his nakedness, she longs to touch every inch of his long, hard body. And when he bids her come near, she quickly surrenders to his wicked promises of carnal pleasure and sensual ecstasy.

By ROROBLU'S MUM TOP 500 REVIEWER VINE™ VOICE
Format:Paperback
Sin was, I think, the first book I read by this author, featuring the sister of this tale's female lead, and as a result, I rushed to get my hands on all I could. This one was available from my library, and I am really glad that it was, as had I gone to the trouble of buying it, I'd have been forced to sell it on - it's not a Keeper.

This is the story of Maryanne Hamilton, sister to Venetia from Sin, and the second illegitimate daughter of the erotic artist Rodesson, who has been editing works of erotica written by prostitutes. So, the lead of this book, Dash (Dashiel) has been on her horizon and in her thoughts for a while, and one day, when she ventures into a House of Pleasure, she sees him half-naked and succumbs to him when he thinks that she's a woman of the night there for his pleasure.

We get a touch of mystery and suspense, some danger and betrayal, but the leads only seemed to be together because she was pregnant, had a wealthy protector in her brother-in-law who had persuaded Dash to marry her.

Yes, the sex was hot and plentiful and definitely not vanilla, but what spoilt it was the leads themselves and the highly unlikely situation that gave rise to the tale and the 'romance'. Ok to read, but not to keep. I'm now not going to bother with Hot Silk, the last Rodesson daughter's tale...

superb erotic Regency romance with a lot of Dash 18 April 2008
By Harriet Klausner - Published on Amazon.com
Format:Paperback
In London Maryanne Hamilton found the season quite tedious so she decides to attend the infamous party at Mrs. Master's salon. However, she also is editing the memoirs of aging prostitutes so they can earn a retirement income from their published works. Maryanne is especially excited by the exploits of Lord Dashiel Blackmore, who lives up to his name as every prostitute insists he adds dash to the boudoir.

When Dash meets Maryanne in a house of ill repute that no lady would enter, he assumes she is a courtesan; not the innocent she is. He wants her and lets her know he plans to take her. She wants to flee yet cannot resist his lure.

This is a superb erotic Regency romance in which the audience will agree with the prostitutes that Dash adds that and more to a fine mix. Maryanne is a wonderful counter to Dash as he assumes she is a courtesan and she does not fully correct him. This is a delightful page-turner that will have sub-genre fans seeking the author's other works (see SIN) as Sharon Page heats up the era.

5 Kisses, TwoLips Reviews 1 Dec 2008
By Linda D. Crooks - Published on Amazon.com
Format:Paperback
In the prologue of Black Silk by Sharon Page, Lady Farthingale is willingly ravished by five men for her aging lover's voyeuristic pleasure. Then she's bound and gagged, and disappears. The mood for the book is set, and readers are prepared for a lusty and intriguing read.

Dashiel (Dash) Blackmore, Lord Swansborough, who readers will remember as the dark and thoroughly debauched viscount from the first book in the series, Sin, is being framed as the mastermind behind Lady F's abduction, as well as a similar case a week prior. He's innocent, so who is framing him and why? Revenge?

Maryanne Hamilton, erotic artist Rodesson's second eldest daughter, is proofreading an erotic manuscript when she receives a desperate plea for help from a friend and business associate who has gone missing. She decides to go to the location specified in her friend's note, despite the considerable personal risks involved, partly because she wants to experience her own exciting adventure. She has no idea what she's really getting herself into.

While searching for her friend, she runs into Lord Swansborough at what turns out to be an erotic scavenger hunt. He thinks she's a doxy hired for the evening's entertainment, and she prays he won't recognize her as his good friend's sister-in-law. He has played a starring role in all her naughty fantasies, and now here he is in the flesh. They're only together for one passion-filled night, but it's enough to make "Verity" (the false name she gives him) pregnant. Of course, once her brother-in-law finds out what has transpired, he insists that Dash marry her. But the marriage is off to a rocky start, made even more difficult by Dash's shadowy past. Betrayal leads them to the face of danger - but whose face is it?

I love how Sharon Page gets right to the good stuff right from the beginning of Black Silk, and somehow manages to do it tastefully and without feeling rushed, forced or contrived. She's a master at intertwining passion, suspense and heartfelt emotions. Her characters are intelligent and likeable. This book is a wild ride from beginning to end with some excellent surprises, and I found myself anxious to read the third book in the series.

Rake gets reformed 10 Nov 2008
By Melissa - Published on Amazon.com
Format:Paperback
For years bookish Maryanne Hamilton has kept secrets. The first is that she is editing erotic literature from a well known courtesan, Georgiana, and the second is that she is very attracted to Lord Dash Swansborough. These two secrets prove to be her downfall one evening when she receives a frantic note from Georgiana requesting her help. Maryanne dons a mask and goes to a bawdy house looking for her friend. She is nowhere to be found but she does see Lord Swansborough.

Dash believes Maryanne to be a Cyprian and together they have quite a passion filled night without Dash ever discovering Maryanne's identity or even her name as she had given him a fictitious one.

Dash is a man with many issues but they never detracted from his innate charm. He has a family which is a true albatross, a mentally unstable uncle, an insatiable sister-in-law, a vindictive cousin but a kind sister. Also adding to his troubles, Dash is an unofficial suspect in a string of missing and dead women. He is suspicious of almost everyone as there have been attempts on his life.

When Maryanne and Dash are forced into a wedding, things become even more heated and passionate between them. Dash really wants to trust his wife and she really wants to trust him. Together they slowly lower their emotional walls with each other. The vulnerability is a little more believable on Dash's part than Maryanne's though.

The mystery of the missing women is still hounding Dash and now he must not only worry about his own life but his wife's too. This is a good romance with a lot of passion and a decent mystery.
