Lovely 27 April 2010
By J. Gadd
Format:Audio CD
This is a superb album, perfect for a lazy summer afternoon. The tracks featuring Andreya Triana are beautiful and I'm struggling to see how other reviewers don't feel the drumming is up to par. Have they listened to "Animals"? Do yourselves a favour and buy it on vinyl though, the artwork is stunning and you get a free MP3 download anyway. A win win aituation if ever there was one.

To me this beautiful album literally takes me somewhere else. I am on Black Sands the contour lines of which are seen on the disc and the album artwork is the view from a hideaway. If you havent listened to this album that will just make me seem like a raving lunatic. But this album is amazing and everytime I listen i find something new. Buy this.

My current mission it so find a perfect pair of head phones that will play this in the quality it truley deserves.

There are a few albums in the world which will always remain in my collection, but if I was to, hypothetically, have very limited memory on my MP3 Player, Bonobo's Black Sands would undoubtedly still be included. This may not be the greatest album ever made, but I will never give it up. It is an essential for any chill-out fan who likes their ambience or anyone who wants to get a good atmosphere in the room. The melodies are beautiful, the beats are sensitive but strong and the tracks seamlessly flow into one another. The whole album complements itself. 5 out of 5.

It's all about the music!
This album is simply brilliant. It starts as a little jazzy ambient & gradually moves on with a light electronic feel to it then subtly changes the mood again to light instrumental... Read more

Definitely a "Grower"
I played this album over and over when I bought it, really trying hard to like it - disappointingly only the first two songs stood out - and then it was shelved for over 6 months. Read more

Good album.
Not quite as good as 'Dial "M" for Monkey', almost on a par with 'Days to Come'. As always the instrumentals are better than the tracks with vocals.
