Sarah (Kate Bosworth) has an idea to spend time with her girlfriends camping on a remote island. Abby (Katie Aselton) and Louise (Lake Bell) have old boyfriend issues they need to still come to terms with. While on the island they bump into some hunters/poachers, three guys recently dishonorably discharged from the military. They hit it off fine, especially Abby and Henry (Will Bouvier) until tragedy strikes and the film takes on Rambettes vs seasoned killers with guns.

I thought I would never get tired on these type of films, but I believe I have reached my saturation limit. The film is typical of the genre except the hunters lacked the personality to make this short film entertaining. Alex (Anslem Richardson) was a confusing character, poorly scripted. The theme is that we all do things that apologies don't mend, and centers around Abby who was wronged. Later Abbey tries to change how people feel through an apology. Might make for a rental if you like this type of film. Not the best of its kind.

Parental Guide: F-bomb, attempted rape, nudity (Katie Aselton, Lake Bell)

Why is Kate Bosworth in this film? Does the writer have embarrassing pictures of her that he threatened to make public? I know she isn't the biggest of Hollywood starlets, but she's about a million times better than the dross you have here.

Three women who absolutely despise each other go on another camping trip to a secluded island. In a rare moment when they are screaming abuse at each other, they meet three soldiers who are there for the hunting. One woman gets drunk and seduces a soldier, only to change her mind half way through the `act.' He gets cross, so she kills him, meaning the remaining two soldiers decide to hunt down and murder the remaining three girls.

So, can three women survive and overpower two well-trained soldiers with guns? I'll give you a clue: this is a movie. Take a guess.

Whereas the soldiers have their military training to fall back on, the women just sit in bushes before trying to sneak about the place while shouting loudly. Then, when they get in the water, they decide just to splash a lot rather than swim.

I can't think of many films like this. There are only six cast-members and you might think that what the producers save on cast wages they could put towards a decent story or effects. However, this has neither. It comes across as something a poor film student would make. The `fight scenes' look like that sketch in Monty Python where six old ladies mud wrestle. Seriously, it's that bad.

If you want hunting in the jungle, there's a little-known film called `Predator' starring one Arnold Schwarzenegger. Check it out if you haven't seen it. If you have, just watch it again - it's in a different universe of film-making to this.

Kate, why?

A brief fight for survival affair, triggered by an unexpected coming together of 2 groups of flawed, somewhat tetchy Personalities, each group struggling with their own joint Personal histories. An accident waiting to happen becomes the flashpoint for a Character forming fight to the death between the Hunters and the hunted.
Nicely paced through Night and Day in a challenging Environment and at less than 90 mins, definitely worth the effort.

I don't normally bother to write reviews but this film is so bad that I felt obliged to warn others about it. This is nasty survival/revenge porn, with a made-for-tv vibe. The director gives us cliche after cliche, and did she rehearse her actors, or couldn't she afford that? I do not object to violence in movies, but there has to be some point to it, and this story doesn't have one.

I SAW THIS FOR SALE IN SAINSBURYS AND THOUGHT AMAZON MIGHT HAVE IT CHEAPER AND WITH SOME REVIEWS. I HAD SEEN ACTRESS KATE BOSWORTH IN BLUE CRUSH AND LIKE HER STUFF SO THOUGHT SHE WOULD BE GOOD IN THIS. NEVER HAD HEARD OF THE OTHER TWO ACTRESSES AND FELT IT WAS A PITY WE DIDNT SEE MORE OF KATE B BUT AFTER SEEING THIS FILM A FEW TIMES NOW, ITS ONE OF THOSE THAT GET BETTER AND IT ISN'T VERY LONG EITHER.
A BIT OF A PREDICTABLE AND SILLY PLOT BUT IF YOU BUY IT FOR LESS THAN A FIVER IT'S WORTH HAVING.

Although I'm sure there will be an appreciative audience for this film, it didn't do much for me. Spoilers follow. After a by the numbers set up the action begins, and with it all sense of credibility. The action involves some basic chasing and overacting, and very little of what the protagonists choose to do to survive seems appropriate or reasonable. For example there are a couple of key moments where they choose to crawl when they should have been running. They get wet which is a catalyst for some fairly gratutious nudity and although I'm sure the director would talk about that in terms of women discovering their elemental natures or something similar, it jarred. They decide they have to arm themselves, find a pen knife and by morning have managed to slightly sharpen one small stick. I don't want to destroy the film with a lot of tiny criticisms, but all of those moments and many more felt like an unfinished screenplay and a lot of directorial ad-libbing. It's not an awful movie, but it reminded me of the sort of b-movie instantly forgettable movies of the VHS video store days. The cinematography and music are pretty reasonable but I couldn't give this more than two stars.
