Exactly what I wanted and needed. Perfect shoulder padding and parts are well made. I'm glad I chose the RS4 over RS7 as the extra under-arm support makes it just that much more secure. I've taken it out to the local park with my 4yr old and managed to help with his bike, helping him to ride without my camera getting in the way. I've even helped up and down climbing frames and taken shots in between with the camera securely hanging at my hip (this was with my Canon 5d Mark II and 24-70 L hanging off the strap. At around £53 it is expensive but then I always prefer to pay for something solid and I know is going to last me a very long time. I will not be going back to the neck strap ever again. I'm only writing this review because I've found reviews helpful in choosing items on Amazon. So I hope you find this helpful too.

This is such a great product I think it is an absolute must have! I have used standard camera neck straps for many years, and suffered because of it so recently I tended to carry my camera in one hand with the strap wrapped around my wrist. This was never very satisfactory, or secure.

This strap is amazing, the camera is securely fastened (by the tripod thread) and in no danger of falling off, being grabbed or swinging about generally. I walk for many hours with a heavy dslr body and large lens without any strain or pain! It is also so nice to have the camera always ready - it takes less than a second to grab, slide it up the strap and fire a shot. When you're not shooting you have BOTH hands free to read a map, use your phone, etc. - such a liberating experience.

There are cheaper options that look very similar if not the same. I wrestled with this for a while, then went for Black Rapid. Why? Simple really. The alternatives I saw were about £15-£20. I was unsure about the quality and reliability of such a device with £1,000+ of camera hanging off it. In my mind I felt something about twice the price of the cheap ones should fit the bill, but I couldn't find much that looked good enough, so I bit the bullet and went all the way and bought Black Rapid. Have used it twice now, and thought it was great (I guess I liked the concept really). The Black Rapid product though is very well made, and feels sturdy. I have used this walking around London in all the touristy areas, and my camera felt safe and secure.
Oh, and if you register online with Black Rapid you get a 5-year warranty.

I have knocked one star off, because I still think it is expensive, even though I am not disappointed.

(I have read reviews where people say the clip has come unscrewed, It has a rubber washer on it, which is key to this working, as this is compressed when you tighten it, and makes the thread secure. Some of the reviews I read suggested there were marks left on the camera body, which suggests the washer was missing).

Having been scepticle about spending this kind of money, i must say it was well spent.Having a full artificial leg and 2 dogs to walk i find this camera strap an asset. It hangs behind me without affecting my walking and is quick when i need to use my camera. The camera slides up the strap with ease. With the shoulder pad ajusted properly you don't know you've got a camera with you.No need for camera bag.Would highly recommend but may not suit everybody.

Very good construction. A must for active photographers. Expensive, but you get what you pay for. Word of warning, it does not extend that much, so if you are of the XXL size you are left with little room to play with if its cold and you have a big jacket on.

I bought this strap after doing a lot of online research and trying out a few in the shops. I got this one because it appears to be the best and I didn't want anything less. There is a new American one that is similar (you can see it on YouTube if you search for BlackRapid) but there seem to be problems with it in design or quality of manufacture. And the nearest Uk model just wasn't that user friendly. Although it is a very expensive strap, I still think it's worth it. It fits great, is comfortable and the camera is always ready for a shot. The strap provided with the camera (Canon 7D) was good quality, but unless you like carrying the camera round your neck and advertising to the world what camera you have (which feels to me like an invite to be mugged)then this one is the one to get. It's strong, secure (I've had no problems with the security of the fastening in the tripod socket), doesn't shout come steal me, and is very convenient to use. It's very well made (as it should be for this price) and I don't anticipate buying another strap for many a year. Highly recommended if you can stretch your budget that far.

Extremely good quality product and comfortable to wear with my Nikon D700 attached. Don't really feel the weight of the camera being suspended around the hip region. Clever design with the clasps that hold it in place and with the front one, which when released, allows Camera to be 'glided' up the strap towards eye level for that all important photo taking opportunity. Is perhaps a little over priced for what it is, but you get what you pay for .....or so they say! Recommend this very highly.
