I assumed that Black Plumes was an Albert Campion mystery, but it isn't. Having said that, it is Margery Allingham and was very entertaining. Worth listening to.

I've bought practically every book Margery Allingham published, and enjoyed them all. (I've reached the limit and have moved on to Ngaio Marsh.)
Since early 20th century detective books is my hobby, I would buy them, but M.A has a particular draw. She is at the beginning of the 'sleuth' books; unafraid to make her main character interesting and limited. The plots are interesting and, though a trifle forced, high quality representatives of the genre.

although this does not feature our hero campion it is very much in the genre of his stories a young woman is being used by the head of her family and turns to an unlikely saviour a murder is commited and the story unravels the mystery but who is the mysterious stranger agood tale told with margery allighams grasp of keeping her readers turning the pages
