Product Description

Simply Brilliant. 6 Nov 2005
Format:Audio CD
To put it simply this is currently the Black Mages best work and is a must for final fantasy fans and rock lovers. The tracks are faithful to there Final Fantasy roots, but have been changed just enough to make the guitars work. My particular favorite is the track "The Skies Above", which the album is named after and features the piano solo from Final Fantasy 10 followed by brilliant guitar work and lyrics which reflect Final Fantasy 10 story. Most of the track have no lyrics in and the tracks are derived from songs from the entire Final Fantasy series making the album a real treat for Final Fantasy fans.

Frankly, if anyone is on this page, they should already own this album. Any fan of Final Fantasy arranged albums should be in possession of this. It pays respect to the original pieces but adds astoundingly brilliant sections redolent of progressive/power metal. Basically, if you ever thought "metal versions of Final Fantasy battle themes would be cool", buy this. It will meet (and exceed) your expectations. I must mention "Maybe I'm a Lion" in particular, which just rocks.

DO IT! 3 May 2008
Format:Audio CD
The black mages have exceeded everyone's (including mine) expectations with a top drawer album here.

This is computer game music taken to the next audio level with some of the best ever engineering and audio fidelity combining with endeavour and execution. Top track is in my view the man with the machine gun (although maybe i'm a lion is top drawer.) Some of the so-called big bands should take a listen to how music is REALLY being made by groups like this. If you haven't got the album now DO IT! *points finger mercilessly
