This is an essential album from probably the best band in the Newcastle/Sunderland music scene. It's fresh, it's rock, it's indie, it's punk, and there are tempo changes galore. Jordan Hill's drumming is inventive yet simple, and Michael Matthew's bass riffs are the perfect back drop to the jangly, jarring guitar riffs displayed by Richard Amundsen (someone give this man a medal!). The vocals manage to be both intelligent and distinctively lad-ish, and as Richard and Adam Rose shout together, you can't help but shout along as well.

This Ain't Vegas deserve to be known the world over, so help out and buy this album today. If you're a fan of post-punk, or just a fan of rock in general, you won't be disappointed.

And if you see that TAV are playing in your town, go and see them! Their live shows are blistering.
