Brilliant! I have just finished this action packed thriller and i'm still raving to all and sundry how good it was. I'd previously read Mr Dickinson's "High Risk", thought "that's a good book, I'll read another" and got stuck into this straight away. And it's even better! The author writes with knowledge and authority on the subject of Antartica (he has experienced it first-hand), and blended in a tale of treachery, science, loyalty and daring rescue missions in the coldest place on the planet. Just the thing for Winter nights:get this book, tuck yourself up in bed with a warm drink and enjoy an excellent read. Can we have another one soon, Mr Dickinson?

Pure escapism! 17 Jun 2009
Format:Paperback
This is wonderful. Very sharply written with black humour and a frenetic pace throughout. There are also great descriptions of Ushuaia / the Drake Passage etc which kept me researching rather nerdily for some time after finishing the book!

There are also some really tear-jerking parts in this story which manage to be inspiring without ever becoming mawkish or preachy. Mr. Dickinson wraps up proceedings with a very satisfying twist which you don't see coming at all.

Excellent book, full of tension. I had to stop reading from time to time as the tension built so strongly.

Not many books move me, but I had a lump in my throat towards the end. Could have been embarrassing as I was on a train at the time.

Highly recommended.
