I haven't read the book yet, but I'm sure it will be well worth reading. There is one issue, however, which is related to the use of the term 'black African' to describe an indigenous race of people of Africa. Sounds tautologous to me to be using this term, don't you think? I certainly do not have any knowledge of people of African descent born in Europe being identified as black Europeans. Have you? Of course there are other ethnic groups in Africa (arabs of the north and whites in the south), but clearly that does not make them Africans; these are settlers as they are originally from Europe (ie. their land mass). Are Europeans now identified as Africans as they are also identified as Austrailian and New Zealanders; perhaps Asian - yes, what about Asian? If anyone can enlighten me why Europeans feel they should monopolise on the identity of every ethnic group that exists, while no other ethnic group is allowed to be identified as Europeans.
