What a nice girl like me is doing writing this book.
BLACK FEATHERS collects five years of my erotic short stories into one volume, and it's somewhat amazing to hold such a lot of work in one hand! You may wonder why I titled the book BLACK FEATHERS. When I quit my day job to write full time in 1992, I tattooed a black feather onto my arm as both a trophy and as a reminder. In 1995, when Masquerade books published a book of erotic short stories that I edited (SM VISIONS: The Best of Circlet Press), I did a second black feather on my arm. For the release of this book, of course, I'll do a third.

I write in many different voices in these stories, some female, some male, some bisexual, some lesbian, gay, or straight, but I think each story, regardless of its "orientation" can appeal to any human being with an erotic yearning. The largest and most important sex organ is the brain, and that's what I aim to stimulate, ultimately.

I write erotic fiction with a secret agenda. Yes, it's hot, yes, it's made to turn you on. But my secret agenda is to make this world a better place, a place where freedom of sexual expression and tolerance of sexual variation is normal and accepted. Giving people a glimpse through fiction of how good it can be is one tiny step toward building that world. But if I didn't tell you that, you might just think the stories were seductively delicious anyway...

Having one's first book published seems as though it ought to be an auspicious occasion, with much fanfare, but as I sit here to write this introduction I think I'd prefer to keep it simple-there are fireworks and crescendos aplenty in the stories themselves. Read the first page

Too much agressive content for my taste - knives cutting flesh don't do a lot for me but each to their own. Certainly imaginative but just not that erotic in my book.

If you like erotica but have been put off Cecilia Tan's work by the genre labels "Sci-Fi" and "Fantasy" then break out of your safety zone and make a start with this. A brilliant range of stories - some erotic, some thought-provoking and some startling. All beautifully written.

So your boyfriend (or boyfriend*s*) enjoys sexy stories but you'd love him to read something more erotic than the letters page of "Penthouse"...You *can't* go wrong passing this delicious collection of Cecilia Tan's on to him...a wonderfully exotic range of stories that made my heart beat a little faster, my breath come a little shorter, and my skin break out in a heated sweat...On the other hand, who needs to give this book away? Give *yourself* the present of this luscious collection, and see if you don't expand your own sexual imagination!

FINALLY! After a long wait by her readers, Cecilia delivers the collection we've all been waiting for. I've been a long time fan and imagine my delight when I walked into my local bookstore and found this delicious collection on the shelf! Imagine my sadness when I found that Cecilia had been signing books there the day before. Such is my lot but I still walked away with a signed copy that has since proven to be one of my best book buys of the year.

Black Feathers is a diverse landscape of erotic, exotic and provoking thoughts. A DEFINITE add to any erotica reader's collection.
