for those people scouring amazin for ambient music look no further.
this album is somewhat different from other ambient groups as it relies less on electronic sounds and effects and more on atmosphere created by the simple collection of instruments.
the music consists of drums (played softly with brushes), a smooth, fret-less bass, haunting keys and beautiful sax.
the bass and keys lay down a soft blanket of sounds, with swishing drums sounds, almost like the sea lapping on the shore, and then the sax comes in and carefully caresses your ears.
this is an album you could easily fall asleep to, but, at the same time, it is an album that you could sit up and really listen to.
sounding almost like the soundtrack to a 40s film noir, black earth is a must have for ambient, soft jazz and music lovers of all kinds.
this album is a must have. and, should you like this album, i highly recommend sunset mission by the same outfit.
