The Black & Decker KS800S is a lightweight, Autoselect jigsaw with soft-grip handle for comfortable use on prolonged job applications.
This Black & Decker KS800S comes equipped with an AUTOSELECT 7 adjustable position system which controls the variable speed according to the application selected on the dial. This system stops you damaging workpieces and also helps to give you a professional finish to your project.
ACCU-BEVEL system gives tool-free, preset bevelling shoe adjustments depending on the application selected. This KS800S Autoselect jigsaw has a tool-free universal blade clamp which accepts both U and T shank blades and is changed very easily with no tools. The on-board blade storage keeps the blades secure and with you at all times for quick and easy access.
An integral dust management system provides either dust blow or dust extraction.

I bought this because another reputable make of jigsaw I had wouldn't cut in a straight line! (and it wasn't me ... the blade didn't point forward!) that one had a quick release blade clamp too so I was hoping that this wouldn't have that problem. It's fine. I was a bit surprised to find that the auto select is really just a speed control, as I was hoping that you could control the speed with the trigger which you can't, however having a speed control on the side is actually quite good as you can control it with the other hand without loosing grip, (which is what happens when I've used a jigsaw with a knob or dial at the top, then you can't can't change the speed and hold it properly at the same time). The speed control isn't continuously variable as it's notched but it gives you enough control.
Anyway, very nice machine, feels well made and takes both types of blades which must be good!

pros: The variable speeds are good.. as is the little apartment for storing spare blades.
Cons: Blade not lined up with the little arrow..so have to cut on an angle to go straight.. maybe it was just the one I was sent.
Overall, not really a bad item, just not great.

This is an excellent tool and I have used it a lot since I got it. It works the long blade on thick wood effortlessly.
