The Black & Decker A18 Slide Pack Battery 18.0V replaced the battery bought with the Black & Decker lawn edger and strimmer about 5 years previously. The old battery had lost its ability to hold charge and the power required to drive the device was proving to be too low for effective use. The new A18 has revitalized the system and functions well, with about 20 minutes of useful power when fully charged. The acquisition of this battery has meant that the edger and strimmer Black & Decker GLC2500 Cless Reflex Strimmer 18v continues to be effective and will not need to be disposed of for quite a while longer, which is environmentally friendly.

Black & Decker A18 Slide Pack Battery 18.0V
This seems to be B&D's replacement for the A1718 battery. The A1718, with 1.7 amp-hours didn't last very long: this 1.5Ah replacement will run out even earlier. (1.5Ah means that, if your product draws 1.5 amps, it will last an hour. If it draws 15 amps, it will last 6 minutes). There are third-party OEM products that advertise 2000Ah at the same price - but they were out of stock when I tried to buy one. I don't understand why B&D is going backwards! I should have suspected that something was up when B&D replaced the power rating flash on the side of the pack with "Fire Storm". :(

really good to have one of these spare battery,s for my strimmer wouldn,t be without it now as they only last 30 minutes max but having 2 battery,s does the job nicely.

Excellent speedy service and delivery well packed. Website easy to negotiate. Great service compared to being kept waiting in B&Q for 10 minutes and then told don't sell them.

Cheaper to buy new product than replacement battery plus...
