Norwegians Obliteration offer Black Death Horizon to us, and really we should take our bludgeoning and be grateful. Well crafted proto-death and proto-black elements are folded into a scalding cauldron of scan-death and doom and served at hellfire temperatures. With shrieking vocals that don't immediately call any other vocalist to mind, Obliteration hold a corner market on inventive but trve death metal. If you can imagine a tank firing sporadically, coming across a frozen expanse covered with emaciated corpses and slowly crushing them underneath steel grated tread while one of the almost dead bellows in inhuman agony, that's what image this album conjures up. For fans of Asphyx, Autopsy, Death, Obituary, Possessed, Bathory, or Hellhammer, this is scary but crucial stuff.
