I bought this to match my Box Appetit Lunch Box and for easy carrying to work. You can use the bag unfolded as a mat to sit on or a kind of tablecloth. It certainly does the job and unlike the other review to date, I have no problems with the velcro, it's well stitched and secure. I was a little disappointed in the green fabric, somehow I was expecting something of a greater quality, and possibly with some insulation. I have seen this same type of fabric used in disposable overalls... however, the fabric is waterproof and wipe-clean. With the square lunchbox inside the bag there is still room for a couple of other items such as a drink or a yoghurt etc. Not an essential item but comes in handy.

Large, Works Best with Box Appetite Products

I recently bought several of the Box Appetite products by black+blum and was thrilled to see that they made a matching bag to complement them. In a nutshell, here's what I thought of the black+blum lunch box bag.
GOOD
- quite roomy
- velcro sides allow the bag to lay flat and double as a placemat
BAD
- works best with the Box Appetite products by black+blum, if you're just looking for a generic bag, this may not be the best choice
- square shape and somewhat large size may mean this bag is bigger than what most are used to carrying their lunch in
- like anything with velcro, it can be frustrating to make sure you line up and get a secure fit between all of the sides
- color selection is limited to black with the green/white checkered inside. This works out well if you bought the green/white colored Box Appetite bowls, but feels out of place with the orange/white or black/red models

Disappointing

I expected this to be a bag. It is not. I has no sides. I is more like a folder with handles. It fits the lunch box but lets extras like flatware, a straw, a banana etc. slide out. I sent it back.

What a waste of $$

This thing is not what I was expecting. It's completely flat so if you pull it apart to actually fill it with food the sides which are velcro pull open. Even if they happen to hold, there's hardly any room inside it. This is not a lunch box, it's a placemat.
