Product Description
After many requests, we have finally adapted the award winning doorstop design into a bookend. The stainless steel plate that is fixed to his foot, ensures that any number of books can be leant against James' outstretched arm without him slipping over. He can be used individually or as a pair. We want to show that designed products can be made affordable without compromising their quality. The aim is to create innovative products that will charm and entertain. Hopefully you will get as much enjoyment from a black+blum product, as we got from designing them.

Fun and quirky James the Bookend

This bookend is awesome. I was looking for something a little different, and this is it! It holds books perfectly, doesn't move around if a book is taken from the stack it's holding.
One thing I wanted to point out, in case anyone reads too quickly through descriptions as I did - there is only one bookend here, it's not a set of two you're getting. I was so surprised when I opened the package to see only one James and then went back to the site and saw ohhhh ... yup, it says it's only one, not a set. The description is fine, I just wasn't thorough when I read it. But I figured I'd mention it in case anyone else does the same thing.
GREAT product, I can't wait for people to notice it, as I'm sure they will.

Cute, but pricey

This cute, single bookend didn't compare favorably to the elegance, function, versatility, or price of our new Kikkerland "Leaning Ladies" and "Leaning Men" bookends. "James the Bookend" is also a little wide for our taste, using up too much space on the shelf. We returned the black one and gave the blue one to our teenage daughter, who loves it.

These bookends designed by black & blum are not only durable but stylish and playful as well. Many people comment on them in my office. They add a little flair to my workplace.
