This is the first every "karate" movie that is believeable and true to karate, no wire work or unrealistic fancy fight sequences.
I love this movie I am sad that it isn't availble in the UK as in my opinion this is a great movie, not just for fans of martial arts but for those who study karate it is a nice bonus because like I've said the fight scences are true to karate.
The soundtrack is also amazing as is the locations in the movie

If, as I did, you're considering skipping this film due to having to read subtitles DON'T! Whether you're a fellow Karate practitioner or not this film will inspire you, sweep you away, captivate your imagination. If you're expecting wild CGI fight-scenes or over the top characters this film won't suit you, but if you're after real karate, gritty believable fighting and scenery and sets that are nothing but perfect then you can't miss this film...

I would say whilst kung fu films like the IPman series are really good and entertaining and I enjoyed them very much.... for people who actually train karate this film is a real gem. These guys use the same techniques we train in the dojo but show how they had to be used before in life or death situations. I have no problem re-watching the film again and again... each time getting inspiration to train more myself. If you train karate you will appreciate this film.
