I bought this mainly because I wanted to read Hunter's recollections of the crucial World Cup qualifier between England and Poland during which he made a crucial error which gifted Poland their goal. England needed to win this game to qualify for the World Cup in Germany in 1974. The fact that England could only draw (despite dominating the game) cost them a place in the finals and cost Sir Alf Ramsey his job.
You'd have thought Hunter could have got ther facts about this game accurate. I mean, it wasn't just a kick about down the park was it?
Amazingly, Hunter writes that England took the lead. I'm not sure if the book was proof read but if it was, someone needs the sack.
Not sure how accurate the rest of the book can be after that.
