My initial feelings were that this was a great program and I liked the features, it seemed very comprehensive and worked nicely in the background. Unfortunately after installation some of my other software ceased to work and despite the efforts of the Bitdefender online help desk this was not resolved. I then sent in a 'help' ticket which should have been answered within 48 hours but over a week later I have had no response. I have now had to uninstal and revert to my previous anti-virus software. I think it is a shame but unless I can use my existing software the program is no use to me.

BitDefender Internet Security 2012, 3 User, 1 Year License (PC)
Review from Computer Shopper Magazine rated this as top Security Software (First, Kaspersky Second) I have used Kaspersky for the last two years with no problems, so as it was nearing the end of it's licence, I thought I would give Bitdefender a try. So I ordered it through Amazon.
Big mistake! No end of problems in trying to load the software. When I eventually managed to load it, straight away there were problems. It came up with 'Real time protection is disabled'. I clicked on 'Start' to fix it, and it failed straight away.Then it got gradually worse. The screen kept 'Freezing', and I had to 'manually' turn off the Computer. On turning it on again, it then came up with 'On access scanning is disabled'. So back to the same previous senario.Turned off 'manually' again. On turning on again, managed to load ok, with no warnings, but when I clicked on 'Update, it got to 4136.9, out of 124060.0, then froze again, then the dreaded 'Blue screen of death' happened. So uninstalled the software, and reloaded it. Seemed to load ok, with no warnings, but as soon as I tried clicking on the 'Update'button, it froze again, then the 'Blue screen of death' appeared.
So I uninstalled it again, and went straight to the Kaspersky site, and downloaded their latest Internet Security 2012,and it has been working perfectly ever since.
So as far as I'm concerned, Bitdefender is a waste of time and money.

Having been a reasonably content Bitdefender customer, I recently 'upgraded' to this extremely damaging piece of malware, which immediately set about removing my personal settings and corrupting a number of critical system files.
I have had viruses in the past that were much less destructive than this. I have had to re-install my operating system and have lost some data.
A quick look at the online forums shows that Bitdefender know about these problems and continue to sell their product anyway.
By the way - the only product support you will get is through the forums because they don't have customer support. If you are mad enough to install this stuff, or are unfortunate enough to have done so already, DON'T follow the advice of any Bitdefender employee (assuming you can find one) - they tell you to do insane things like 'trust the entire network' or 'turn off the firewall'.
You have been warned.
