This product has an annoying habit of crashing on boot up if you don't give it about 5 minutes to sort its life out. So this isn't great for those of you who aren't in the relative dark ages like me (I'm using a USB wired ADSL modem) and whose internet connection dials in automatically.
I contacted the customer support people via email and I got a reply within their 48 hour service level agreement which asked me to run a diagnostic programme and send them the result. To cut a long story short, after a week and 3 email exchanges they sent me a "delete all registry" programme and told me to uninstall the software and reinstall from their website!
So when it works it's fine and is only slightly more annoying than my last AV (outpost pro) in that it wants to babysit me into upgrading programmes I don't use (windows messenger, windows desktop search etc)!

I have been pleasantly suprised with this product. I have previously been running a combination of Kaspersky and Ad-Aware to protect my system, but upon my lisence running out for the former i decided to give this a go. It runs on very little processing power (helpfull as my laptop is starting to get on) and is very easy to navigate, something which kaspersky does seem to lack in some ways.
I did find that it missed some of the more in depth aspects that kaspersky provides, but the other features in BitDefender like health check did make up for things.
Overall i still feel the need to run Ad-Aware to keep my system fully secure, but I do prefer to be slightly more careful. Just avoid the internet security package, it really doesn't match up to the anti-virus suite.
For the price it is an amazing peice of software, definatly recommended, especially if your computer system is not top of the range.

Amazon Vine™ Review

This stands up very well against some of the market leaders in AV software. It was easy to install, and the screens are intuitive and easy to follow. I found it uses less resources than others, and doesn't tie the PC up for hours in endless scans. I was also suprised that it identified and quarantined several threats which my Norton software had failed to find, one of which was potentially very damaging. Given the price, effectiveness and overall smooth running of this software, I would have to recommend it over others I have tried.

Good Value
Good for novice users, set this up on my mothers laptop, works great, she doesn't have to touch it. I like the options you can set i.e. laptop mode configuration
