This book is well laid out with clear to follow pictures and has some lovely recipes in it. BUT. BE CAREFUL! The book either hasn't be proof-read, or very badly proof-read and is littered with mistakes. One cake recipe calls for 2ml of milk...... Fine if you know what you are doing and can see it is a mistake, but not good if you are a complete beginner and relying on accurate recipes. Another biscuit recipe I tried called for Golden Syrup in the list of ingredients, and then failed to mention the stuff again! Who knows if the error was in the list of ingredients or the method.
Cooking times, certainly with my cooker, which is a very normal basic one, need to be taken with a pinch of salt. What she doesn't say is to take biscuits out of the oven before they are crunchy. If you cook as she suggests, you will end up with burnt biscuits.
So, nice recipes but the proof-reader (if there was one) should be given the sack!
