Wow! I can't believe I'm the first to review this great artist !

I thought for sure there would be tons of reviews for this unique artist! Is he living in a cave without promotion? That's ok, I'll keep him to myself. I am new to his work and know nothing about him but the few hours of exposure to him leave me floored!
This guy is phenomenal. I'll try to describe the best I can. Jazzy, experimental, reggaeish, melodic, ambient, rockin, a tad poppy with lots of soul and an incredibly unique voice.

That's exactly what I was thinking. He's really superb, mindeblowing, captivating and that's an understatement. And I'm proud that I can say he's a fellow countryman ;-) .I'm going to a live concert this summer...

As other reviewers have stated, it is difficult to understand Ozark Henry isn't more known outside Belgium. This was Ozark Henry's breakthrough album, it instantly made him world famous in Belgium. It has a lot of memorable songs that stick with you and go deep, and instantly attach themselves to your life => they will produce bitter-sweet memories when you hear the cd back years later.
You can pre-listen the songs on Amazon on the mp3-version of this cd (Birthmarks), so do that to convince yourself before buying.
Best Amazon-songpreviews for newbies to Ozark Henry: Word Up, Sweet Instigator, Seaside, Rainbow, Rescue. I think the other song previews are too short to get a feel for them.
