Product Description

Manufacturer's Description

Birth of America tells the story of the wars that took place in North America during the late 18th century. It is thus possible to relive the American War of Independence (1775-1783), and also the long fight between France and England for the control of the Ohio valley and Canada, known as the French & Indian war (1755-1763).

Birth of America is a complete and detailed strategy simulation of the two most important wars in Colonial Americas. With a map divided into provinces, the game is turn-based, so you have as much time as you wish to think about your orders. Turns are solved simultaneously by the game engine, so a two-player (or more, depending on scenario) game takes the same amount of time as a single-player one.

I am not wasting your time to write about the background of this game. You can find this in Amazon's review. This is a military turn-based game.

Most people don't play military turn-based games perhaps think that they are not their type of games, they are for the hardcore gamers. This is understandable because we all play games for fun! Most of the military turn-based games look so boring and totally unattractive to start with. They tend to concentrate on stats, lots of stats and lots of numbers! The minute you start, you are already overwhelmed by the stats. It really put most of the people off.

However, this game is different! While this game still concentrates on stats and figures (at the end of the day, this is turn-based game), I can see the game designer made a huge effort to make this game look good!

This game looks so beautiful! It's not the graphics! It's hard to pin point what it is because it is the whole layout. The game map looks very attractive, the colour coordination is excellent! It just looks so pretty and pleasing!

I was literally glued to the screen because of this beautiful and well-balanced layout. The game play is great, the music is exceptional and suddenly I was not troubled by the annoying stats and figures anymore. Hardcore fans will also enjoy this game because you still need to think very carefully and plan your move for each term. But because this game is so good, naturally you want to advance and you want to win!

The purpose of this game is to achieve victory condition by capturing objective and strategic cities in a given set of turns(date). You can play in different scenarios and campaigns with different countries where you will be given different conditions to win.

turnbased wargames is a rare sight in these rts days, but this games dares to put quality over eyecandy. For people who are tired of clickfests and want an immersive strategic experience I strongly recommend BoA!
