Cheryl has been practising yoga since she was 17 and developed a keen interest in teaching perinatal yoga over the years. She always loved and been fascinated by all things birth and baby and as her life started to move towards this time, so did her love of working with women and mothers. Cheryl has a beautiful 3 year old son and practised yoga throughout her pregnancy using all of the techniques during her labour and birth that she teaches through YogaBellies and the Birth rocks training now.
Cheryl was first drawn to yoga while studying for a Bachelor of Arts Honours Degree at the University of Strathclyde and has practised and taught yoga in Hatha, Dynamic and Ashtanga Vinyasa and Flow yoga styles amongst others, over the years. Cheryl completed completed her 200 hours Hatha Raja Yoga Teacher Training Programme with Chi Yoga School. Cheryl is a qulified Yoga Alliance E-RPYT 200 (Experienced registered prenatal yoga teacher 200 hours) as well as teacher training with BSY.
Cheryl was the first teacher in the UK to gain the prestigious accreditation of RPYT, and is also a FEDANT approved antenatal educator and practitioner. Cheryl is the founder and principal yoga teacher at YogaBellies and founder of the Birth ROCKS birth preparation method. Cheryl has taught hundreds of women through every life stage over her time as a teacher and has trained yoga teachers, antenatal educators and baby massage instructors across the world.
