My wife has been nagging me for years to get some Birkenstocks and at long last she has won the battle. They took a little while to get used to (had to put a plaster on a blister at first) but the more I wear them the more I realise why she likes hers so much!

When new if you don't get the adjusters just right on these sandals you end up with the ridge at the front under the ball of your foot - very painful. With thick socks the ridge also causes a fold when you put your foot in which takes a bit of adjustment until the things wear in. Despite this I like them very much and it took me ages to find a pair in this design. I hate the toe thong sandals - can't get them on or off without having to bend down and sort them out. Now these have worn in they slip on and off easily. The inside of the strap is also leather rather than fabric. I like this as it doesn't catch dog hairs.

Lovely Madrid sandals in real leather
very nice sandals, usually you would pay this price for their ones that are not leather so I am pleased. Lovely retro look :)
