Clogs arrive relatively quickly and fit well. The shoe sizing chart could do with a short explanation of what the 'N' and 'M' stands for as it was not until reaching the checkout that you realise that it is 'narrow' or 'regular'.

Remember clogs support your legs, your legs suport your spine and your spine supports your head. These are excellent clogs that will mould to fit your feet excellently - BUT REMEMBER they are over size and will stretch in the first three months...... Personally I always one size down in Bostons, two sizes down in open sandle types..

Since I discovered this style of Bikenstock clogs in 1980 I have never been without at least one pair. They are so comfortable I wear them from summer to autumn inclusive. They are always true to their sizing. I normally take a 36 or 37 in other shoes but with these I am a 35 narrow, so if you have never tried them before you may need to downsize. But once you have found your Birkenstock size, like me, you can rely on that size from year to year onward..
The quality of the leather is superb and hard wearing. Just a drop of shoe polish now again will keep them looking like new for years. On average each pair has lasted me 5 to 6 years of almost continuous use with only the soles finally giving in. I'm not sure if they can be re-soled. I've never tried as there isn't a decent shoe repairer anywhere near me.
Trying to remember back to 1980 I think I took a short while to get used to the low heel at the back, but found they made me walk better and my posture improved.
Please give them a try, I'm sure that like me all those years ago you will be a convert.

These are my first pair of Birkenstocks and I'm afraid I'm not really a convert. They look cool and have that hipster vibe I was going for but I just don't find them comfortable. They feel really stiff and clumpy on my feet and I've been wearing them at least twice a week for about 6 weeks now and don't feel like they will ever not feel this way. They also rub to blisters if not worn with socks/tights and they are roasting hot, so summer wear would be out of the question entirely. I went for the the size down as suggested, so a UK 5, and glad I did as the UK 6 would have been MASSIVE. I also went for the narrower fit and again, so glad as I did as they actually feel a little wide for me - the regulars would have been ridiculous. I have a high instep so the fact that these shoes support your instep is very good, although I still find them rather flat (I'm more comfortable with a slight (1 inch max) wedge or heel). All in all they're okay, but I am a teensy bit disappointed that they weren't these amazing clouds of joy everyone made them out to be.
As for the service from the seller, don't think it was made clear enough that these are actually coming from Germany. It took the seller a week to dispatch them and then another week for them to arrive, so not the speediest of services all told.

I have many different pairs of Birkenstock sandals and thought I'd try the clog, as the others are so comfy.

I ordered the 39M as that's the size I usually wear but they were not big enough - the arch seemed to be in the wrong place.

(I ordered a replacement in a 40 but the width of the toe was so large - like a Croc - I am also sending those back.) I'll be sticking with the various sandal styles in future.

I measure 5 1/2 C in a Clarks shoe shop, no swellings, lumps, bumps or bunions. However, I have a shallow foot - like a duck!
The first pair of Birkis that I ordered were sandals and the 38M fits very well with the straps tightened to allow for the shallow depth of my foot but one toe is just touching the raised edge.
I ordered the clogs in order to have something more suitable for the winter with socks. As I am a half size normally, it was difficult to decide which size to go for, 38 or 39. I tried the 38 Medium but it was so deep from top to sole that it fell off, I was able to keep it on my foot if I wore a loop pile walking sock. I re-ordered a size 39 Narrow thinking that it would give that slight bit of extra length For the toe but might be slightly smaller fitting. I kept these. I wear them with hand knitted 4 ply socks. They have been worn daily with very little sign of wear and will last a long time. No problems with keeping them on my feet but a loop pile walking sock is too much for them.

This is something I have ordered before for my husband for work. Confortable and no slip on those kitchen floors.

Not your average Jo summer sandal, can be smartened up or go just casual. Excellent quality and so comfortable

The first pair I ordered(normal size) are superb and good quality. The 2nd pair I sent back due to excessively scraped leather of a lesser quality. The third pair I tried for seem to be a slim fit but not defined as such in description. I love birkies and have worn them over 40yrs-It is a shame that the quality standards and selling description are in decline with this particular kind anyway- Please improve it.
