Good, but overpriced and with limited life.

I have a kind of love-hate relationship with Birkenstock.
Pros: classic, fashionable looks, very comfy (if you get precisely the right size and width fitting), the cork provides both a comfortable bed for your sole, and a some reasonable shock absorption. The uppers will continue to look good for years, although the sandals as a whole will last 2-3 years with occasional use only.
Cons: Overpriced for what they are. They also get very smelly, as the cork will eventually collect too much sweat, no matter how much you air them. This is a well-known problem with this brand, and with cork-bed sandals in general. So, whilst you may think they may still look good, eventually you will need to get shot of them.
