Having been after some books on making bird houses to get local school kids and their woodwork teachers interested, this one stands out as it shows lots of inspirational constructions at different complexity level.
Although for North America, the designs are quite simple to convert to Northern European birds.
Beautifully illustrated, and also an interesting one for those who want something different for coffee table books.
Highly recommended!

Out of all the how to build a bird house books I've discovered on Amazon this is by far my favourite. Not only does it provide a full colour photo instructions and step by step guides, the bird houses are made from various woods including baltic birch plywood and pine, so you have an idea how the wood cuts and how the final product looks. It is an American published book targeted towards their audience but it doesn't put you off with the incredible bird house designs it offers.
The trick is to use there designs and tweak a few things to make it your own design targeted towards British birds including Tree Sparrows and Blue Tits.

This book has some great ideas from very natural looking boxes to artistic and architectural designs. The designs are easy to follow, they can be made fairly fast and look nice when they are finished.
