Product Description

Birchwood Casey offers you the best ways to touch up scratches and worn spots or even completely reblue most guns. It will give a non-streaky, even blue-black finish to steel (except stainless). Perma Blue® Paste Gun Blue provides great blueing to metal that has already been thoroughly cleaned and is free of rust. Perma Blue Paste is slower to darken than Liquid Gun Blue, but will build up a denser finish.

5.0 out of 5 stars Recommended 8 Feb 2013
Purchased to restore my greener,
Easy to follow instructions, found the paste easier to apply than other fluid blue kits,
A laborious task but the gel gave good results and would use again

Didn't work on gun I tried to repair bluing and I suspect it depends upon the steel used by gunmaker I have repaired bluing on other guns of different type(German) so it could be horses for courses so my review could be unfair

4.0 out of 5 stars Its a "steel" 31 Oct 2013

This product does give good results but can be a problem if you happen to touch the work piece with your hands.
When using it make sure that the work is properly degreased and then it will blue as it should.
I have found that it is a good idea to wear latex gloves to prevent any fingerprints.
Would recommend this product to anyone wanting to "blue" steel.
