Let's start with the workouts. There's two 25 minute circuit training works outs designed to give an overall cardio and strength workout. They're pretty intensive and will tire you you out, They start and end with warm ups, cool downs and stretches and it's performed by Basu and her trainer Deanne. Some execises are shown with modification for beginners, such as planks. You will need a weight of some kind for these workouts, tins, bottles of water, dumbells etc.
There's a timer on the screen that counts down the workout, which I quite liked. The music is crap, I have to say, some bouncy dance crap.
While the two workouts are meant to be be one for beginners and one for advanced, in truth a fit person could do the first workout and use heavier weights to push on or turn it into a time trial, whilst still keeping proper form. I do that with 30 Day Shred, just treat them as another workout. So the workouts are still usable by any fitness level, you just have to use your ingenuity.
Upside to workouts - done and dusted in 25 minutes, great workout, execellent progression as you get fitter
Downside - the music is awful.
You do have the option to have the instruction in both English and Hindi, with or without music. The music is both Western dance and Bollywood, but I didn't like either.
The Extras - are a bit hit and miss. There's a making of with interviews with the cast and crew, which I enjoyed. There's interviews about fitness and overall health with both Bipasha and Deanne, also good. There's a 30 minute "I Love Bips" with a studio full of Bollywood stars, including her partner. It's hilarious, for the wrong reasons. There's a hell of a lot of adverts for products she must endorse in India. There's adverts for other actor-led fitness DVDs. There's a text run through of the muscles and the body and what exercises work them, which is informative. There's a bonus Reebok workout led by Bips which take you through one circuit of a complete workout (repeat the circuit to complete the workout)
So, I really enjoyed this DVD, it's less expensive than other actor led DVDs, it'll be a great addition to your workout schedule in its own right, it doesn't take long each day and it's bi-lingual.
