It's Great. As a first year sub sid biochem student at the University of Bristol, I can honestly say that it is an invaluable resource. Not only does it provide in depth pictures of biochemical pathways, but it also helps to amuse when it all gets far too dull to contemplate. Also, everyone can sing the songs because the tunes are so well known. I think this is the only way that my mother could stomach me telling her about the scarily huge pathways that we have to learn. One of my fellow students here has used it for a talk that he had to give. The reaction he received was one of elation, that someone had bothered to make the talk even remotely interesting. I would like to take this opportunity to congratulate Harold Baum on a brill book.

A true gem 14 Jan 2012

This book is fantastic. The songs are beautifully constructed, and genuinley catchy. It would make a perfect gift for any biochemistry or medical student, as it's funny and amusing but also practical.

Someone has kindly gone to the trouble of digitalising the tape here:

Being able to actually hear the songs makes a really big difference, and means you can learn them far quicker.

But the wonderful part is that, once you know a song, you actually KNOW a biochemical pathway. I have found parts really useful for IB HL Biology, but most is aimed at Undergraduate students.

Absolutely amazing, and will brighten up the day of any student of Biochemistry

This set is so extraordinary! Talk about ways for college students to memorize the complex metabolic and enzymatic pathways of biochemistry! This product is nothing short of superb! As a teacher, I recommend it to anyone who wants to learn (or teach) biochemistry.
