I just got this guy for my 3.5 month old daughter. She's to the stage where she has begun grabbing at things (pacifier included) and then moving her arms, which means she's constantly flinging the pacifier away, and then getting upset that it's not in her mouth anymore. The bear can't go too far. He's well-made, and soft. I originally bought her a Wubbanub, which is the more widely available version of a stuffed animal/pacifier combo, but I'd really recommend the binkbear over the wubbanub for three reasons:
1) The pacifier is removable on the binkibear. HUGE plus, because babies can be so fussy about what shape they will take, and we were able to slip one of her Nuk pacifiers right in. Also - the pacifier is easily removed for sterilizing. And when your baby is teething, you can put a teether (like a razbaby) on instead. When she gets bigger, we can also upgrade to the bigger pacifier size - or just plain replace a worn-out one without having to invest in another animal. Just being able to switch it out gives the bear so much more flexibility.
2) The fact that the pacifier is on the bear's arm, instead of the mouth-to-mouth placement on the Wubbanub, lets her look at him when she's holding him. She never looked at her Wubbanub, it just rested on her belly, but she's been checking out the binkibear because the placement puts them more eye-to-eye instead. So she certainly seems more interested in the bear. The Wubbanub was basically just a really cute handle.
3) When we're done with the pacifier, it will be really easy to just take it off his arm. I know some people just cut the Soothie off the Wubbanubs, but it would still leave that little stump where it's sewn in. I obviously haven't been through trying to transition her off the pacifier, but I like that she can still have that familiar comfort-item when it comes time for it.
All that being said - every baby is different, so someone else's review isn't going to help you know if your baby will like it... but it's certainly more versatile than the alternative, and it's a cute and sturdy little bear. I say, start with this litte guy!
