The Binatone Latitude 100 Twin Walkie Talkie has proved to be useable by children aged 8 and up. It has a reasonable range allowing children to play games and be called back, even when well out of sight and earshot!

this works well up to 3km, they're small and compact so easy to carry around out and about, very useful for outdoors as well as indoors, only down point it requires AAA batteries, i would suggest to buy the other black/silver variation model which includes a charging dock, only down point about that is it takes 8 hours on the first charge! Still great for the out and about!

i've had these a couple of weeks and so far have only used them for short distances, approx 500 metres. the sound quality is excellent and wasn't affected after my three year old got hold of one of the units and dropped it. they are a nice comfortable size to hold and of perfect proportion to fit into a jacket pocket. there is also a useful clip to the back of them.i'm no expert on walkie talkies but i have found these very useful so far and do not hesitate in recomending them.
