I have the smaller 7" version of this and whilst reasonably OK, it is not as good as I had hoped. For one thing, Binatone have not licenced with Google and so Android Market is not available. While other markets are available, they are not as good and as I have found on registering one app that way, even after registration it failed to work as such and evidently only wanted to validate the registration via Android Market. Also many apps on them only work properly with mobiles with smaller screens. If you have an Android mobile with Android Market you may be able to get over the problem by registering that way and then copying the app, plus any associated registration app to your Homesurf. This has worked for me so far, but is a nuisance.
My other complaint is that although I have a strong Wifi signal throughout our house and can use my mobile with it, my Homesurf often struggles to pick up the signal.
Another thing, if you are hoping that Binatone will upgrade you to newer versions of Android, forget it ! They have told me that it is not possible as the chipset will not accommodate it.
Binatone's online support desk is quite responsive and manuals can be downloaded from their website, but apart from that there is no other support, even from third party online fora, at time of writing this. There are also no dedicated accessories available either.
Unless Binatone pull their socks up and produce improved versions of the Homesurf, with suitable accessories and access to Android Market, I will steer clear of them for a newer tablet if they do any. For the future it will very likely be better to save up and buy something made by Samsung or another reputable company already experienced with Android. Be very careful about buying an alternative generic cheap Chinese Android tablet, some of these evidently are not very reliable, so I understand.
