The Binatone BB 500 is a big button mobile phone with a clear colour display and unique clamshell design for ease of use.
The BB 500 comes equipped with an emergency SOS button allowing you to pre-programme your emergency contacts giving yourself and loved ones piece of mind as well as allowing independency.
Binatone have designed this phone for those who would like an everyday easy to use mobile phone, with all the essential features such as, alarm clock, 100 phone book storage (with up to 50 supported by the SIM), 100 SMS storage (with up to 50 supported by the SIM) and 10 ring tones with a visual ring indicator.
The BB 500 does however have many other additional technical and practical features making it slightly more advanced than some of the other Binatone big button mobile phones.
With Dual band GSM capabilities allowing you to use the phone in other countries, it gives you full independency when you go on holiday. The BB 500 also has 5 profiles (general, silent, etc.) allowing you to adjust the phone to suit your needs whatever the occasion maybe. It has the added benefit of an FM radio, which can be associated with a wired headset as an antenna.
There are 3 LED indicators on the BB 500 indicating, signal, low battery, missed calls and a new SMS, this will ensure you will always know if you have missed a call or your phone needs to be charged.

Binatone big display in "clam-shell" style housing. I like this phone. The tones are loud, the display big enough to read quickly without my glasses, it has all the functions I need and some I may never use. It has 3 quick dial settings, so for my most used numbers I need only press one button. To put the call onto speaker is just the press of a button. I have noticed that the slot that houses the ear piece speaker has to be situated fairly accurately over your auditory canal to get the best audio quality, getting it over the outer structures of the ear quickly looses volume. I have nowhere near used up all the phone number memories available but have all the numbers I need stored on the SIM. The calls are answered or cancelled by the opening or closing of the "clam-shell" lid, and the lid keeps the keys from being accidentally pressed. There is always a learning curve for new technology of any kind but the manual was reasonably understandable with only a hint here and there that it was not written by a native English speaker. I have had so much practice with using the keys to enter the phone numbers I might even manage to learn how to text! Eventually ...

A nice piece of kit. The instructions are understandable.It's suposed to be a basic phone so why have a radio?. I do think the torch is a good idea and it's comfortable to hold. The only big nigle for me is that there is no car charger available for it. or is there? may be you guys out there know different
